Women With Abs Look Great
March 5, 2009 Filed Under: Abs Training
As such, women that frequent fitness gyms nowadays rival men in numbers. What was once believed to be “macho” for men- lean, well-defined bodies and shredded midsections are now sexy for women also.
Female pop stars and actresses idolized by legions of adoring (and imitating) fans spend countless hours in working-out and keeping their bodies and especially their abs lean and trim. It’s clear that modern society puts fit females in high regard and this can be evidenced by the popularity of Kerri Walsh, Donna Carano and the Williams sisters.
Let’s face it- under modern standards, women with abs look great and attaining and maintaining six-pack abs is the primary goal of female fitness buffs around the world. Wily businessmen know this and have been making a killing selling gimmicky products on infomercials.
Creams and ointments that are advertised to spot-reduce belly fat, diet shakes and abdominal exercise gadgets that promise to give you a six-pack in a few weeks for just “minutes a day”- these are all gobbled-up by desperate gym buffs trying to find the quickest path to six-pack glory.
Sadly, a lot of women get ripped-off by these “revolutionary” products which don’t really do much to shorten the process of eliminating belly fat. The key to exposing the striations and contours of the abdominal muscles which give us that six-pack appearance is in getting rid of excess body fat. Take care of all-around body fat and we eliminate belly fat.
Studies have found that the secret to fighting body fat is to keep our metabolism high through the right exercises and healthy eating habits. Incorporating cardio exercises that keep our heart rate just below the maximum rate into our exercise programs can drastically reduce the time it takes to get that sexy six-pack.
Total body cardiovascular exercises that keep the heart rate around 60-70% of the maximum burns the most calories from the body’s fat stores. A lot of women lose weight from improper exercise and dieting not knowing they’re losing muscle tissue as well.
