When You Understand Belly Fat, You really Can Lose Waist Fat

The older we get, the harder it might seem to lose fat by dieting. Many times, weight gain is in our belly and it gets harder to take off the fat. If you have ever had somebody comment that you’re getting a beer belly when you don’t drink beer, then you are on your way to understanding belly fat. It is part of the body’s natural defense mechanism against famine-to store belly fat. In modern times, our metabolism has not changed to tell it that it is alright to get rid of that belly fat, we don’t need the fat stores to fight famine, and we can run to the ice cream stand or a fast food restaurant if we need belly fat storage.

What goes on in our bodies when we try to lose fat by dieting is that our brain interprets the reduced caloric intake as a famine, which leads your body to try to store your food as fat. What you have to do is to trick your metabolism into thinking you are still getting enough calories to sustain its processes by varying the food you eat.

When you are stressed, you may not have time to eat much, yet you have gained a pound from what little you did eat. This is a symptom of the famine, fat store metabolism and Cortisol, a belly fat storing enzyme.

A lot of diets do not allow you to get the variety of foods you need to keep up your metabolism and fat burning hormones. If you reduce the amount of calories you are taking in, your metabolism will typically respond by slowing down to match your lower caloric intake. This will have you hitting a plateau quickly and remaining the same weight. If you are dieting with the goal of reducing your belly fat, then you need to stay one step ahead of your metabolism by varying the foods you eat every few days.

To eliminate fat, you need to trick your fat burning hormones and your brain into believing that you are still taking in enough calories – this will cause your metabolism to go ahead and use the energy stored as fat, which helps you to lose belly fat.

If you are trying to lose fat by dieting, eating nutritional calories, and fat burning calories, several times a day, will cause your body to operate under normal conditions, and your fat hormone levels will be balanced and allow you to lose belly fat with calorie reduction, even in high stress periods. Because the body burns fat from the fat cells, only after it has burned the fat from what is taken in, you will need to take in fewer calories while maintaining your metabolism high.
