What You Should Eat To Super Charge Your Memory

July 3, 2009 Filed Under: Vitamins

It should be pretty much common knowledge about the nutritional benefits of foods we eat and how they effect how healthy our bodies are. By eating the correct balance of carbs, proteins and fats we are able to maintain our body in peak condition.

The brain requires good nutrition to stay in peak condition which means if we eat well and health and our brain and memory can stay on the ball. In some cases previously foggy memories can be restored with the right nutrition. It should be easy to understand if we provide our body with the good nutrition it needs, our memory will stay sharp also.

You may know that there is currently being carried out significant research in to the effect of certain vitamins and minerals and to how they effect the workings of the brain. Foods that give high’s and lows such as candy bars are not good for the body and equally bad for the brain and it’s ability to retain information in the future.

Eating sensibly is important for boosting your memory. Foods that are rich in antioxidants are said to work in helping memory function. The benefits of antioxidants are often associated with fighting cancer and playing a positive role in preventing certain diseases of the heart.

If you know of the health and memory boosting benefits of foods that contain antioxidants doesn’t it make sense to build them in to your daily eating routine. Foods which are especially high in antioxidants are some types of nuts and carrots and there are of course others. Another well know source of these benefical anti oxidants is Green tea which in addition to containing anti oxidants provides other health benefits.

Another food stuff which helps boost the memory is soy. It has been shown that foods made from soy such as tofu help the memory. Soy can also be found in the form of a milk callled soy milk. This can be found in food stores and for some people it can make a suitable substitute for regular cows milk.

Soy also offers many other benefits to the body and knowing that it can help with boosting your memory is good enough reason to at least try it and possibly make soy a regular part of your diet.
