Versatile Resistance Bands for Building Muscle, Losing Fat and Gaining Balance

handstand290x200If you’ve ever thought about purchasing a fitness machine for your home gym or either want to join a gym club, before you make your final decision think about the following points:

1) The cost: Fitness equipment is expensive. Almost every machine you look at costs a great deal of money. A treadmill for example can cost anything from $900 for a cheap one up to several thousand dollars.

2) Size matters: Bulky fitness machines take up a lot of space. Do you have a room at home where you can set your gym up and not have to move it after every use? Some fitness equipment comes as the fold away type, but you still have the inconvenience of storing it away after each use.

3) Gym clubs are great, but they’re also expensive to join. Sweaty often smelly changing rooms – who needs it or wants to pay for it?
But there are alternatives, where you’ll get as much – if not more of an all round quality workout than any gym club or single workout machine can give you and at a fraction of the price.

Resistance bands are so much more versatile and convenient than typical fitness equipment. This is a lighter piece of exercise equipment, which is far more portable – can fit into your suitcase on business travels, holidays or in your briefcase for the extra 5 minute exercise session during lunch time.

Made of elastic or rubber with plastic hand-holds for ease of use, the resistance band comes in a variety of types, colors and lengths, each with their own different levels of resistance that can be adjusted.

Resistance bands also have the added advantage of being suitable for use by children, seniors and some patients that are convalescing after an operation or similar, by using sports related movement patterns.

The resistance band offers a huge range of motion, as opposed to a machine that is restrictive and dictates your range of movement. This allows you to create resistance from every direction; from the side, overhead, below like free weights, and ultimately to combine exercises for maximum results.

A resistance band user can adjust the amount of resistance by adjusting the proximity to the device, which offers greater development of muscular strength, endurance, and mass. It also assists in the maintenance of basal metabolic rate, promotes independence, and can train seniors and the elderly in avoiding falls.

This convenient, non-bulky piece of fitness equipment has a unique way of working out your muscles, that is quite different from the dumbbell, where the difference is what makes resistance bands so great. Unlike dumbbells, bands have the ability to provide resistance through your whole motion, resistance that will challenge muscles you normally wouldn’t challenge with a normal dumbbell set.
and have been commonly used in yoga postures.

A fitness system that offers the same benefits as home gyms and health clubs at a fraction of the price, was designed originally for arm and leg exercises, but has since become one of the most popular home gym and gym club alternatives.

Some of the elastic resistance bands has a clip system so that any of the elastics can be combined and substituted. Each of the elastic bands has a different thickness that creates a different level of tension when stretched.

Resistance exercise is used to develop to strengthen the muscles, although exercise and proper diet are necessary to achieve and maintain weight loss and muscle definition. Free weights and fitness machines just don’t cut it in this area, where balance development, balance and stronger supporting muscles, joints, and ligaments, as well as stronger core muscles like abs and back are all possible using resistance bands.

Resistance bands will strengthen and elongate the muscle fibers as well as increase body flexibility tremendously. Whether your goal is building lean muscle mass or shedding that excess body fat, a good set of elastic resistance bands will help you reach your goals and can be used by beginners as well as advanced resistance training exercisers.

Elastic Resistance bands are great because you can take them anywhere! Simply pack them in your gym bag, suitcase or travel bag and have an instant access to a portable workout. If in doubt – always consult your physician before beginning any exercise program.
