Treadmill: Cardiovascular Workouts
February 22, 2010 Filed Under: Treadmills
Treadmills are a very popular option for cardiovascular workouts and a great way to stay in shape as well as being simple to use. As treadmills become more sophisticated so does the workout and its versatility – imagine getting a great workout in spite of the weather outside couldn’t be better.
A concern as we grow older, is that our bone mass begins to deteriorate. The proper use of exercising can stop bone deterioration and in some cases actually improve bone thickness and density. For people with health concerns – using a treadmill for exercise is a good option.
Speed and incline have always been a feature on motorized treadmills, these days your workout is enhanced by a variety of pre-programmed computerized exercises presented by proform treadmills for example. The impact on your joints as well as your workout will be affected by the type and percentage of incline.
When you reach the purchasing stage, read up on treadmill reviews, compare features, safety and prices, so you get the best deal possible and value for money. At the showroom, try out a machine that is similar or the same to the one you want to buy if possible. Consider the space you have at home, as it’s likely your treadmill will occupy the same space it does when not in use, you will have to decide if this is practical for you or if you need to look into a fold away treadmill, which can fit into the closet, cupboard or under the bed, nice feature if you don’t have too much space.
Which treadmills should you consider? Which should be avoided? Those are questions that only you can answer. Just do your homework before buying and you’ll be on your way to a new you in no time at all.

Good advice on purchasing a treadmill… If you really run on these things, it’s best to go to a gym and use their equipment unless you want to drop a couple thousand… the cheap ones fall apart!
