Stubborn Belly Fat? It May Be Because Of Your Exercise Program!

If you’ve been fighting with stubborn lower belly fat, your exercise program could be to blame. In individuals who hold most of their weight in the lower abdomen below the waist, a common underlying cause is fatigue of the adrenal glands due to chronic stress. In people suffering from adrenal fatigue, too much exercise or exercise that is highly intense can cause further adrenal fatigue and result in the release of a hormone that causes more fat to accumulate in the lower belly.

The adrenals are small glands that sit on top of the kidneys (”adrenal” translates to “on top of the kidney”). Alhough they are small, the adrenal glands are powerful organs and produce hormones involved in many functions. The most familiar of the adrenal horomones is probably adrenaline (also called epinephrine). As you are probably aware, adrenaline is produced in response to stress or fear and mobilizes the body for “flight or fight” responses by raising blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing, and by diverting blood flow to the muscles for fast action. Cholesterol is a waxy type, fat-like substance made in the liver and found uncertain foods, such as food from animals, like dairy products (whole milk),eggs and meat. Cholesterol is carried by two types of proteins. Cholesterol is regularly produced by your liver and helps transport fat to areas of your body that require it for energy and repairs.
