Coping Positively With Depression
Stress, depression, anxiety, all words we know the meaning of, but have we felt the real essence of what they mean - bodily ourselves, have we been in or gone through a situation that caused us stress, depression or anxiety. You may have, but haven’t wanted to make a ‘fuss’, been too shy to ask for help, to confide in a friend, a family member - couldn’t cope with what they would think of you - once they all knew about you and your ‘problem’. All anxiety disorders are not equal, different people find different things cause them to have anxiety attacks. Men will find different situations cause their anxiety disorder to come to the fore than women do.
Social anxiety attacks make people doubt themselves, someone who suffers with anxiety attacks will convince themselves that everyone’s eyes are on them. The fear of being noticed and even more importantly that someone will see them make a mistake often becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
If you are in a situation that could possibly cause minor worry in most of us, such as a crowd of people suddenly appearing and people coming in a bit close. Someone with social anxiety could well go into a full on anxiety attack, couple that with the fear that someone will notice their anxiety and it all compounds into a very frightening anxiety attack.
Social anxiety disorders can affect your career as well as your social life, if you get nervous and anxious every time you are talking to your boss it will affect your career prospects. Some people will find that their anxiety disorder doesn’t bother them at work but only when they are out in a social situation.
The anticipation of an event can be almost as bad as the actual event for people who have social anxiety disorders. Public speaking is one of the best known fears that people have, imagine having that level of fear every time you want to use a public toilet?
If social anxiety is not recognized and treated then it takes over peoples lives, it normally starts affecting their social life first. Social anxiety keeps millions of people locked up in their own homes and the fear gets worse and worse the longer it goes on.
Social anxiety disorder usually will start at a early age. You can be shy and still not experience the same intense anxiety that people do with social anxiety disorder. Shy people usually do not avoid certain social situations like people that have social anxiety disorders. Social anxiety disorder can overtake someone’s life if they allow it to.

December 11, 2007 by Lucy Jones · 1 Comment
Having money worries can cause endless stress and sleepless nights and as a result - a number of challenges that can become health risks. Research shows that anxiety related to personal financial issues causes stress, which then leads to serious health problems, where people in these unfortunate circumstances are more likely to try and find solitude in drinking, over eating, smoking and numerous other unhealthy behaviours, which in turn brings more stress and the vicious circle goes on - unless there is support at hand to turn the situation around.
With less money for self care, people that owe money and under financial pressure, put health care on the back-burner in order to get by on a daily basis and buy the bare essentials like food. They often feel badly about themselves, which strengthens the stress and depression.
The longer the financial issues are left un-solved, the deeper the stress, depression and introvert behaviour becomes. But there are resources that can help to handle negative financial situations, reducing stress and help build toward a more secure and stress free future.
Getting out of debt is much easier with a plan and there are many professional entities that are able to assist with for example bad credit loans, which can alleviate the stress and set you on the right path to a better and healthier life style.

Are You A Stressed Out Workaholic?
November 17, 2007 by Robert William Locke · Leave a Comment
I used to be a workaholic but then I saw the light when my health started to suffer and I got out in time ! My ex boss was and still is a workaholic - he is still alive -only just -and his wife does not see much of him!
I now work three days a week and am not exactly rich but I enjoy a stress free existence.Workaholism is like any addiction which is a human weakness. It is also an illness. The term workaholism should not be confused with hard work which is very strong in the Protestant ethos .
Leisure is idleness, toil is good and workaholism is the best ! When do you have to start worrying if you are a workaholic? It is when work becomes an obsession and the main, or only, driving force in your life ! It is rather like a fatal progressive disease and like any other addiction it gets a stronger and stronger hold. Read more
