Natural Skin Care: Quality vs. Quantity

January 11, 2008 by Lucy Jones

Taking care of your skin is essential in keeping out impurities and maintaining a supple, fresh and healthy looking skin, all of which can be obtained with regular skin care in combination with a healthy diet.

Choosing natural skincare products is fairly easy these days as there are basically creams to suit every skin type and age group.

For example anti ageing cream would have a high content of collagen, as well as plant extractions used in combating wrinkles in the skin. As we are going to age with time no matter what we do, using anti aging skin care products that have been scientifically proven to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles are the best products to use. With the products available today for anti ageing skin care it’s possible to purchase a system of 2 or 3 products that each work on a specific part of your face and body.

An oily and dry combination skin would obviously need different kinds of skin treatment and there are many products that can help to normalize the skin. Products that have alpha hydroxy acids, or retinol containing vitamin A, combined with the use of a toner two or three times a week will help keep the skin in balance and avoid black-heads and pimples. For combination skin it’s best to stay away from products containing alcohol as these irritate dry skin.

Buy quality skin care products where possible. The cheaper ones are generally filled with substances that clog the skin pores and if you happen to be alergic - you’ll be able to avoid those by paying just a little extra for quality rather than quantity.
