If there actually was something that made those pounds melt away as if by magic, do you think you would still see a gazillion ads for weight loss products? Many of those products only deal with one aspect of how that weight gain happened, when in reality gaining weight is due to many different elements. Revitalizing your body for easy weight loss, was never before this easier, but first let’s look at the actual causes for weight gain and deal with those first. Correcting the mechanisms that have gone haywire in the body takes time, but in a way the results are magic, but they are just not instantaneous. Cleanse and nourish your cells for a clean and healthy body. Then weight loss becomes a side effect of the learning process and implementing the habits that work well for your body. Toxins accumulated in our bodies over a lifetime of environmental exposure to air, water and food pollution contribute to weight gain. Studies show clearly that toxins contribute to the problem of excess weight, especially in people who truly have converted to eating healthy food and exercising and still have difficulty losing weight. Toxins can certainly affect the hormone glands like the thyroid and adrenals. The thyroid hormone locks onto the cell like a key in a lock. Once properly attached, it tells the cell how to function. It may say, “speed up” or “slow down the metabolism”. When a toxin attaches to a hormone like thyroid, it no longer has the right shape. It no longer attaches properly to the cell. They can no longer communicate properly. So, you have many of the symptoms of low thyroid like sluggishness, constipation, dry skin, but your thyroid blood tests are normal. Doesn’t make any sense at all, does it? Until you realize that you do have plenty of thyroid hormone circulating in the blood stream. But it can’t fit into the cell, so it can’t perform its proper function. So you can’t function energetically either. Bummer. As you continue to work on detoxifying your body, your thyroid function can return to normal and then you return to healthy, energetic you. Toxins also affect your body in other ways to make you hold onto your weight. For example – your body holds extra water to dilute the toxins in your tissues. Without this extra fluid to dilute the toxins, they would do more damage to your body. As you clean up your life-style and dump these toxins, your body can then dump the extra fluid. That’s why you may lose 5 pounds or more the first week you switch to eating a healthy diet. Your body no longer has to hold onto that fluid to protect you from toxic damage. As you accumulate toxins over the years, your body stores them where they will do the least damage. Probably first in the fat cells, then the muscles, bones and joints. Then when the body has absolutely no other place to put the toxins, it stores them in the vital internal organs, the GI tract, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys. Sound scary? Well it is actually! After all of your tissues become saturated with toxins, your body says, “Yikes I’ve got to do something to keep me alive!” So it may initiate mechanisms to store more fat in order to have a place to put incoming toxins. And this can be a strong mechanism. Nothing you try for weight loss works. If you lost the fat, you might become so poisoned that you risky dieing. So to lose weight we need to become aware of the priorities the body puts in place. First we have to be patient in detoxifying the body according to the body’s built-in priorities. The body generally detoxifies the internal, vital organs first, then the muscles, bones and joints and lastly the fat. So fat loss seems to be the least priority for the body when it’s the highest priority for most of us. Start with bowel cleansing, the main pipe out of the body.
