Researchers Find Yet Another Immune System Code

A group of researchers from the University of Copenhagen and BioCentrum-DTU have managed to fathom yet another part of the human immune systems key codes.

The same researchers already broke the first part of the codes last autumn, giving a comprehensive picture of how our immune system checks dangers in and outside our cells.

According to the researchers with this new information it should be possible to predict all immune systems known, but also as yet unknown key codes. This should in turn lead to new targeted therapies, which includes cancer.

Professor Soren Buus from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, has been at the forefront of this research project.

The bodies natural defenses uses these key codes in such a way that micro-organisms cannot spy out its functions. It’s this unique protection that has so far made it difficult for scientists to decode the entire human immune system – and hence made it difficult to develop accurate readings and carry out organ transplantation’s.
