Low Carb Diet For Vegetarian

A low carbohydrate vegetarian diet can be a great way to lose weight. However if you want to do it the right way it can require some planning. The thing I have found that works best when on a low carb diet for vegetarians is to have a collection of your favourite foods at home and work out your vegetarian low carb recipes around them.

The first ingredient is tofu. It is a staple of all vegetarian diets, is one of the best foods to eat on a low carb vegetarian diet.

And Tofu is very high in protein, low in fat and has very few carbohydrates. Tofu is an absolutely perfect ingredient to build your diet around.

This ingredient is incredibly all-round and can be used in just about any vegetarian low carb recipes that you find. You first want to start simple with this ingredient and work you way up to proficiency with it. Whether it is Asian or Italian you can work Tofu in if you use it right.

The other ingredient you can use to bring some protein into your diet is eggs. Eggs have some advantages over Tofu, but are still a bit lacking in the flavour department. Parmesan is a great choice to spruce up your eggs.

As protein is very easy to not have enough, and is often overlooked in recipes, so it is especially important to make sure that you and your family are getting the amount protein that you need.

Coconuts, peanuts and cashews are good staple ingredient in vegetarian cooking, and all have their own unique flavour and add taste and texture to any vegetarian meal.

You could make a wonderful wonderful sauces out of peanuts and spruce the blandest meals up with cashews. As coconut milk has lower fat than cow?s milk, it is healthier to drink it in your low carb vegetarian diet.

If you are looking for explosive flavour and versatility, peppers are a great choice. There are also many valuable nutrients and vitamins in peppers, you can try them in just about anything.
