Facts That Matter About Liposuction On Love Handles

January 15, 2008 by Corey Namesse

Weight loss is one of the most talked-about topics today. Because of this, there are already several weight loss methods and training techniques coming out in order to reduce unwanted fats. But for those who don’t have the patience for it, liposuction can be the only option. This is a surgical cosmetic procedure to remove excess fats usually around the waist area. This section is also referred to as love handles. Many people prefer the liposuction on love handles because it’s a faster and easier method.

Liposuction is performed by inserting a tube-like instrument called cannula into the incision on the area. The location of the incisions is determined by knowing where the fat deposits in the body are. Or sometimes the patient instructs the surgeon which areas should be scraped off from fats. The cannula is connected to a suction device. You can now imagine how the liposuction on love handles is being set up for you.

Since liposuction is an invasive method of removing fat, it helps to know some facts about it before making a decision. Here are some of those facts that matter:

- Adipocytes. These is where the body’s fats are stored and released. When these cells are fed with fats, they inflate like how a balloon does. When this happens, you get flabby skin. These cells cannot be removed. Theoretically though, removal of adipocytes can be done by liposuction.

- Liposuction techniques. Love handle liposuction involves suctioning out the fats in the belly. But science will tell you that this is not as easy as its concept. Special tools and equipment are used and techniques are being developed. These are two liposuction methods that are common today; (1) Tumescent Liposuction technique, and (2) UAL or Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction.

- Tumescent Liposuction. This is considered as a traditional method like a regular surgery that uses local anesthesia and incisions to take out the fats. Also, the procedure includes the use of numbing agents and solutions that reduces blood flow.

- Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction. To remove excess parts from an area, the UAL passes through an incision and uses a cannula. The difference is that it uses an ultrasound technology. Adipocytes are subjected to a frequency sound wave causing it to rupture. This new method of liposuction on love handles makes it easier for fats to discharge.

- The procedure is practical. Liposuction on love handles can be done in almost anywhere. Some conduct this surgery in free-standing surgery centers and even in a physician’s office. The best place of course should be the hospital.

Just how much will a liposuction cost you? Liposuction is done only in specific areas so the rates vary depending on how many portions are to be treated, how much fat you want discharged, and doctors’ fees. One thing you should know though is that the rates are based in thickness of fat layers and not by weight or volume. Lastly, it is very important to understand that liposuction on love handles is not to be taken as a substitute for a balance diet and regular fitness training. Because generally speaking, there is no real shortcut to a better life.

I believe liposuction should be a last resort when loosing weight, normal exercise and a suitable diet are the first main things to try, rather than going to lipo right away.

Don’t forget about laser lipolysis, such as SmartLipo. Some people call it laser liposuction. Utilizing the energy from a small laser fiber that is run under the skin, fat cells are burst and blood vessels are coagulated resulting in less bruising and less swelling than traditional liposuction. As a result, when compared with regular liposuction, the recovery time is generally much quicker. Learn more at .
