Help for Teenage Depression and Stress
November 8, 2007 Filed Under: Motivation
Stress is a feeling that’s created when we react to particular events, which can be anything from taking an exam, a driving test, making a speech to participating in a sports event or even having a birthday. Both adults as well as smaller children and teens suffer from stress, depression and anxiety.
At college or school, there can be a lot of pressure to deal with. Although stress doesn’t have to have a negative tone as the cause of stress is the body’s way of rising to a challenge and preparing to meet a situation or event with focus, strength, stamina, and a heightened alertness. Naturally, a little of the right kind of positive stress can help keep us on our toes and ready to rise to the challenge.
Unfortunately, many teens suffer from negative stress and anxiety in what they feel are pressured situations, that can be caused by low self-esteem, eating disorders, abuse, the feeling of not being able to perform well in any given situation – for instance, an anxiety attack can easily be brought on in any competitive situation – the causes are numerous.
Thankfully there are professional services and entities that can help for example with reducing teen sports anxiety, as well as providing excellent coaching and guidance for most types of teen anxiety and depression disorders.

Stress seems to be a bigger problem among teens now that ever in history.
