Healthy Diet Recipes – Eat More And Lose Weight

Making very simple changes to some of your current meals, like using whole grain instead of white flour, bread, and pasta, can turn a nutritionally okay meal into one that is great for your body. You just need to know the rules for making healthy diet food recipes.
Selecting a healthy diet recipe for most meals has many benefits, especially for those people with certain types of afflictions such as high cholesterol or heart disease. And making even small dietary changes can affect overall health in a very short space of time.
Let’s take a healthy diet recipe to help lower high cholesterol as an example. Start with a large salad with low fat dressing, cucumber and tomato, followed by whole-wheat pasta with a tomato and basil sauce, a piece of whole-wheat toasted garlic baguette, and a glass of skim milk, tea or even a small glass of wine. This could be finished with a nice dessert of low fat yogurt topped with fresh strawberries, blueberries, or peach slices. Yummy!
A healthy diet recipe, and one of my very favorites, is a meal made up from skinless chicken, baked potatoes with a low fat margarine and fat free sour cream, carrots, green beans, and a whole wheat bread roll. To switch it around, you can mash the potatoes with some skimmed milk and serve with low calorie baked beans whcih are high in fibre. You can add a little salt and pepper to bring out the flavor. Another option to vary the taste is to use barbeque sauce to add flavor as these are usually a low in fat.
Because of consumer demand for helath meals, many restaurants include menu items based on healthy diet recipes. At places such as Boston Market, for example, one can get over oven roasted turkey breast, lovely new dill potatoes, and a healthy helping of assorted vegetables. You can liven up this meal by also adding stuffing or cranberry sauce.
When you eat out you must always watch for those items that look healthy but, in fact are not. Maybe a little corn bread? Just say no way. This little treat has lots of trans-fat which will undo all the good you have done when selecting your healthy diet recipe meal.
More and more restaurants are now entreated by law to disclose nutritional information to the consumer, but you must be aware that this information will, in 99% of the time, not be accurate. In fact, many experts say that you should add on 50% to the declared calorific values to come to the correct calories you are consuming.
Pick healthy foods that are grain based, low in calories and fat and you will always end up with a healthy diet recipe. Stay with this rule and you will see a healthier and happier you in short order. After a personal battle finding a genuine diet plan, Samantha C. Willett finally found weight loss success.
