Resveratrol-gives you energy you didn’t know you had at 40

December 5, 2007 by Graham Foster

Its possible you’ve heard of Resveratrol you might even heard that it can be found in red wine (sometimes refered to as the French Paradox) and some other plants. Resveratrol is a highly effective naturally occuring antioxidant found in plants and is now being suggested as the cure to premature aging (aging too fast). One study a few earlier this century indicated that Resveratrol had the effect of extending the lives of laboratory mice by 30 percent. To put that in perspective the equivalent of 40 human years.

I have carried out extensive research and found that Resveratrol is almost certainly the most powerful and effective anti aging supplement available. Advocates of CoQ10 may dispute the versatility claims and only only time will tell as research continues.

The very latest studies released from the Institute of Genetics, Molecular & Cellular Biology suggest that resveratrol assisted mice by giving them double the energy they normally had. It was if their muscle were stronger and their endurance was boosted, it appeared almost as if they were in training with their improved performance.

In a study carried in Finland on both men and women gave strong indications that resveratrol will work just the same for humans. In another French study carried out by Professor Johan Auwerx a certified clinical specialist in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition and professor at the Medical Faculty of the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg stated ” Resveratrol makes you perform like a trained athlete without any of the work.”

Additionally, resveratrol also protected the tested mice from gaining weight and developing the symptoms of diabetes and obesity.

Other benefits included a heightened sensitivity to insulin (a sensitivity which declines with age). When you reverse this decline in insulin sensitivity, you have not only reduced the effects of aging, you’ve also helped maintain your ideal weight and avoid diabetes.

Apart from resveratrol being found in red wine (or rather more accurately the process which produces red wine). Resveratrol is also present in a number of plants of high quantities these include blueberries, cranberries, bilberries and red grapes and perhaps more suprisingly peanuts. I have found that Resveratrol is easier to take in supplement form the best source of which I have found to be Rejuvanol from First Health. They provide the ideal dose of 150mg of Resveratrol a day.
