Gymnastics Training Is For Enthusiasts of All Ages

December 14, 2007 by Lucy Jones

Gymnastics training is for enthusiasts of any age or level and each year our gymnastics club takes a trip abroad to visit and see how other clubs around Europe and especially in the UK are doing things and how we jointly can assist each other, in helping people take more care of themselves health wise. Our club has its own purpose built gym and caters for gymnastics training in the disciplines of men’s artistic, women’s artistic and general, recreational gymnastics.

In 2008 we’ll be visiting Dublin, which we’re looking forward to seeing again - last time we visited was in the 80’s. Although it was touch and go whether or not we could get hotel reservations for our group of 150 people as Dublin hotels are booked solid due to other conferences at the same time - but it looks as though everything is arranged now.

We’ll be busy with shows and training for four days out of the six we’re in Ireland for, and of course we all plan on taking in the sites such as the Dublin and Rathfarnham Castles, National Museum and of course the Irish Museum of Modern Art as well as the Guiness Brewery - no doubt everything will be washed down with a glass or two of Guiness, which I’m told is very healthy for you in smaller doses.

Last year we were in the north of England where Newcastle hotels were very central and reasonably priced for our purposes and in 2000 our trip took us to Leeds for gymnastic events and a visit to local gymnastic clubs. We found Leeds hotels to be very charming and inviting, although Newcastle University that has origins going back to 1834 to the School of Medicine and Surgery - was fascinating.
