Health Care Reform Coming Our Way

This is a time of waiting and hoping in our nation. With the future of a new President and a new party in control of the country, we are all anticipating the promises being told will be kept. Sadly, things can change once a President takes office and begins making changes.
If the new President could manage to iron out the insurance markets and lower health insurance premiums, making sure we all can afford health care, that would be magnificent. I think this would be a true test for Obama.
Like many other Americans, most of us rely on your jobs for our health insurance. At least having a decent policy usually requires a decent job. Unfortunately, some Americans do not have this advantage.
Even with my employer supplementing the policy my premiums to cover my family run me about $84 a week, just for the medical portion of my plan, and this quite honestly is not a bad price when you look at the entire system, but that $84 per week is a lot of money to spend on taking care of my family. I am sure that for a lot of people their premiums are worse, but mine for me are kind of high especially when you take into account that I am only paying half of the actual premiums. Although, I do realize that if something serious happened to someone in my family this cost would be only a drop in the bucket, compared to how much a hospital stay and surgery would cost.
In the big picture, the ideal scenario would be lower premiums, or at least premiums not going up. This will obviously take time, but I am hoping our new President can usher in this change swiftly. We can only do better at this point, the aim should be for our entire country to have access to sufficient health care.
