Top Six Natural Remedies For Hair Loss
January 20, 2008 by Sarah Rowe
1. Aloe Vera - This has been used by both Native Americans and also the peoples of the Caribbean to help with promoting healthy hair and to prevent hair loss. It does this by helping to heal the scalp and balances the pH level. A common way to use this is to combine it with some coconut milk and a bit of wheat germ oil and use it as a shampoo.
2. Henna - This is a traditional herb used by Indian peoples and is a natural hair conditioner. This helps to maintain the hair and also can help with repairing and protecting it against breaking.
3. Polysorbate-80 - This is a FDA approved surfactant, also it is a food additive. This is unproven but said to help with removing DHT from the scalp. You would do this by applying it 10 to 15 minutes before you shampoo.
4. Cleansing or Detoxification - This can be great for health in general. It removes toxins that are in the body and also can help with scalp related diseases that can be directly related to toxemia. When you remove toxins from the body it helps all of the systems function better, and this helps with hair growth.
5. Psyllium Husk - As we all know fiber is essential to a cleanse. Another thing is that most Americans have deficient diets that lack proper amounts of natural fiber. The psyllium husk is a natural bulking laxative agent that is used to help with removing the waste from the colon safely. It works by gently scrubbing the inside of the colon to help with removing the waste that has built up and also the stuff stuck to the walls of the colon.
6. Exercise - This is important for helping to keep the body healthy. This works indirectly to help grow hair by increasing blood flow around the body and also helps with digestion of foods. Even though it is indirect, it still helps keep the hair follicles healthy.
These are only a few of the natural remedies to hair loss that you will find available. There are many different and varied methods, some more extreme than others are. The best way I would use these methods would be along with a more long-term solution such as a supplement or dietary change.
