Getting A High Impact Workout With An Exercise Bike
June 23, 2009 Filed Under: Exercise Bikes
Exercise bikes are exactly what their name states. They are bikes that do not go anywhere, the way a treadmill allows you to walk forever without really going anywhere. They are convenient, easier to use than a bicycle, and can help you avoid bad weather and potential accidents on a real bicycle. Not to mention, you can sit in front of your TV, read a book, or listen to music while using an exercise bike indoors. None of which you can do outdoors on a “real” bike!
Spinning is an exercise routine that takes place on special type of exercise bike. A spinning bike is formulated to act just like a real bicycle would. In spinning classes the “student” listens to the instructor and he or she gradually increases the intensity and speed. Spinning classes are almost always done to the tune of upbeat music and with visualizations at the front of the room.
Exercise bikes offer users a powerful workout. With these workouts you can burn well over 500 calories an hour, simulate riding in beautiful scenery, increase intensity for “hills”, and track calories burned. Exercise bikes are fun, and give you a complete cardio workout.
High impact cardiovascular workouts can be achieved through spin classes, or even on your own. Exercise bikes can easily switch from low impact to high impact, offering your body a tough fat blasting workout. High intensity exercise bike workouts should not be done each day, because your body will become accustomed to that level of intensity.
If you are a beginner, you are not left out at all! Beginners can simply make the resistance lower, and focus on increasing their speed, or aiming for a certain number of miles. Its great to push your limits with an exercise bike, so that your body can grow and strengthen.

Hello, this is really a useful article.
In fact I am new in exercise bikes. I was looking for treadmills from http://www.lifespanfitness.com.au, but worrying that a large treadmill cannot be placed into my small living room. Finally I decided to buy an exercise bike instead. This is my beginning to the exercise bike workout. However, it is too easy to exercise on the bike while watching TV. I simply got onto the bike and started exercise, did not mind how many kms I ride. When the TV show ends, I got off the bike and went to bed. Maybe this is not the best way to exercise. I’ll try to do some tough exercise like once a week or so.
