<p>Special Concerns</p>
<p>Heart failure patients need to be aware of extra complications from sleep apnea.  Heart failure is simply defined as a disorder where the heart isn&#8217;t able to pump enough blood to supply the amount of oxygen needed by the body and essential nutrients.  Oxygen is the most important thing here.  In both sleep apnea and heart failure, there is a decreased supply of oxygen.  If a person has both conditions, the lack of supply of oxygen is doubled and that can be dangerous.</p>
<p>A person suffering from heart failure is at a higher risk of dying during an episode of sleep apnea.  The lower oxygen level in the body may also damage major organs as well as resulting in psychological problems from insufficient sleep.</p>

Perhaps you&#8217;ve heard them say these things a number of times and now you just don&#8217;t listen.  Know what I mean?</p>
<p>In order to quit the first thing you need to do is to write down exactly what the goal is you are after and come up with all the reasons why you want it.  Once you&#8217;ve done this also make a note of all the excuses why you can&#8217;t achieve your goal.</p>
<p>Why have you been telling yourself these lies?  For that&#8217;s exactly what they are.  Repititious lies that you&#8217;ve been leading yourself to believe over the years.  And whether you like it or not, tell yourself these lies long enough and pretty soon that&#8217;s all you&#8217;re going to believe.  Better to write your goals AND excuses down and analyze them for what they really are.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve listed some of the more common excuses here, but ultimately it is your responsiblity to list EVERY reason you think keeps you smoking.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m afraid that I&#8217;ll <a href="http://www.fitness-equipment-solutions.com/suggests/gainweight.html"  class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="gain weight"  style="padding-right: 13px; background: url(http://www.fitness-equipment-solutions.com/wp-content/plugins/alinks/images/external.png) center right no-repeat;" rel="external">gain weight</a> if I <a href="http://www.fitness-equipment-solutions.com/suggests/stopsmoking.html"  class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="quit smoking"  style="padding-right: 13px; background: url(http://www.fitness-equipment-solutions.com/wp-content/plugins/alinks/images/external.png) center right no-repeat;" rel="external">quit smoking</a>.&#8221;</p>
<p>The blunt answer to this one is &#8216;who cares!&#8217;  Studies have shown that you are better off to be 70+ pounds overweight than to smoke when it comes to your health, but that&#8217;s not a goal you are looking to attain either.  The truth is that yes, some people do gain weight after quitting, but this is usually less than twenty pounds and if that frightens you, then this problem can be easily remedied by careful and detailed planning before you quit.  Get it through your mind that you are not going to substitute food for cigarettes and if you do, it is healthy foods like celery, carrots and fruit, not candy bars, chips and other &#8216;comfort food&#8217;.</p>
<p>&#8220;Smoking is too enjoyable to quit.&#8221;</p>
<p>If that were truly so, then chances are you wouldn&#8217;t be sitting there now gathering information on quitting, would you?  Don&#8217;t worry.  I&#8217;m not picking on you.  I used to say the very same thing.  Making statements such as this creates one major issue.  And that is the fact that the more times you say it, the more you become to believe it.  I&#8217;ve said it before.  So time to come clean and be honest with yourself, is smoking really that enjoyable or is it just a fallacy you&#8217;ve convinced yourself to be true?  What is it that you think smoking gives you?  More money, better health and cleaner, fresher breath?  Looking at it from that angle and writing down the answers will show you that you really don&#8217;t enjoy smoking that much at all.</p>
<p>Now don&#8217;t take those statements as viscious or cruel.  In no way are they meant to be that way.  What they are meant to be is a wake up call - and one that I needed as well.  If, as smokers, we keep making excuses as to why we continue the habit, the outcome is that we will remain addicted to the nicotine.  And the sooner we realize this reality, the easier quitting will be.</p>

<p>These tests are invasive procedures involving insertion of tubes into your food pipe to observe and analyze your information over a period of time.</p>
<p>The Cleveland Clinic Foundation recommends the 24 hour Esophageal Ph test or the 48 hour Bravo Esophageal Ph test. A tube is inserted down, going though your nose and ending up near the Esophageal Sphincter muscle, the main problem in Acid Reflux.</p>
<p>This small tube with its acid monitoring device on the end passes gently through the nose, down the food tube or esophagus and stops about 2 inches above the lower esophageal sphincter. The tube is then taped to the side of your face with the end coming from your nose attached to a portable recorder worn on a belt or on the shoulder. This recorder has buttons to let you record certain conditions.</p>
<p>What happens is that you follow certain food and medication restrictions from a week prior to your test.  During the 24-hour test, you avoid showers; record your mealtimes, and meal contents, as well as your rest periods, when you lie down.  There are certain buttons to be pressed on the recorder mechanism, in case you have certain symptoms, After 24 hours, the nurse removes this contraption, and the information is downloaded onto a computer that allows the doctor to review the situation and plan your treatment.</p>
<p>An easier test time wise is the Esophageal Manometry Test where a tiny, pressure-sensitive tube is inserted through the nose or mouth into your esophagus. This will measure muscle contractions when you swallow. This will tell the doctors how well the muscles are aiding in digestion.</p>
<p>Endoscopies, X-rays, are  all procedures that minutely find out if you have an existing obstruction  that hampers the proper digestion of food, by observing your insides through a lighted scope.</p>
<p>Once the doctor has confirmed that there is no physiological cause of your Acid Reflux, like narrowing of the food pipe, scarring of the food pipe, or an undefined suspicious growth where one should not exist, it is time to start thinking of medications and  long-term lifestyle issues.<br />

Nevertheless, Insomnia can be treated. With Hypnosis Insomnia therapy, restless night will be a thing of the past. <p>To set the record straight, hypnosis is not sleep. Medically speaking, it is a state of mind where the level of consciousness which has been altered. <p>The most important part of the Hypnosis Insomnia therapy program is NLP, which is short for Neuro-Linguistic programming. What this program entails is that it reverses the patient&#8217;s emotional and thought processes, which were the underlying reason for the acute insomnia. When a patient emotional process is reversed, the negative anxiety feelings are reprogrammed to feelings that have a more soothing effect on the patient. Even then, it has to be noted that the level of anxiety should not be too high otherwise; the programming will not be effective. To help enhance the hypnotherapy treatment, therapists also uses visualizations to block out the stress felt by the patient. Since the programming has a permanent effect, the &#8220;feel good&#8221; factor will remain throughout the whole day for the patient even until he goes to bed.</p>
<p>Another method used for curing patients of insomnia is the Ericksonian Hypnotic Metaphor program. Using this program, the therapist will use metaphor to enable the subconscious mind to remove the feeling of anxiety, which disrupt sleeps.</p>
<p>Previously we had discussed that self-hypnosis is a good way to control or completely finish off insomnia; but since it is not always possible therefore learning to pamper yourself with a post-hypnotic therapy irrespective of time and place is very important.</p>
<p>The good thing about this sort of treatment is that, it is not harmful. In addition, a third party cannot harm you in anyway by programming you because your subconscious mind cannot be force to do anything against your will. Furthermore, This treatment only takes 30 minutes per session. With such a quick turn around time, you mind is already imprinted with the &#8220;messages&#8221; to dispel all your anxiety that causes your acute insomnia. As such, it is a wise choice to consider this form of treatment in the future if you suffer from insomnia.</p>
<p>However, there are exceptions to the rule where this form of treatment does not work as all. Those who have an IQ level of less than 10, those who are senile or psychotic are very difficult (sometimes impossible) to treat using NLP. This is because these people have very low level of concentration or motivation. We all know to succeed, in anything in our lives, we must be motivated.</p>
