Fat Loss and Diets – Don’t Be Fooled
October 18, 2009 Filed Under: Dieting
If you are having trouble losing weight, you are not alone. There are pitfalls everywhere you turn. There are things you need to look out for when choosing a diet. Low fat and nonfat diets will not work. There are so many low fat foods out now, but people are not losing the weight with them. They keep counting the fat grams to no avail.
Trying to count calories? That won’t work either. Starving yourself is the worst thing you can do for your body. Besides that, your metabolism won’t let you get rid of the fat, it will adjust how many calories it burns. In a couple days the few pounds you may have lost will return.
Don’t give into the latest fad of low carb diets like the Atkins diet. These diets are hard to follow and stick to, plus they are very rigid in what you can eat. Low carb diets will also take away all your energy.
Unhealthy diets are NOT for you. Many of the diet plans you find are very unhealthy. With some you can get bad side effects, especially those where you only eat from one food group. For example, low carb diets are bad for your liver and kidneys.
What about Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers? With Weight Watchers you can only lose a couple pounds a month and you have to count up points for all that you eat. Jenny Craig makes you buy their prepackaged foods and supplements.
Fad diets are usually a quick fix and don’t solve your problem of losing the fat and weight you want.
