c) Gazpacho Soup

Gazpacho soup simply tantalizes the pallet with its fresh taste of vegetables, although best eaten during the summer months when vegetables are most flavourful, it can be consumed during the winter too using other seasonal veggies.

Try gazpacho, you’ll most likely become a big fan of the fresh and intense flavours, it’s definitely a summer favourite. Originating from the Spanish region of Andalusia, over the years many new versions have emerged of this recipe, that’s traditionally made with ripe tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, garlic, and bread moistened with water and blended with olive oil, vinegar, and ice water and served cold.

Traditionally eaten by workers in the vineyards, olive plantations, citrus groves, wheat fields, or cork farms, Gazpacho was originally a recipe made of nothing but bread, water, and olive oil, all pounded in a large wooden bowl and generally eaten by the lower class or poor people of the region.

Those on a low-carbohydrate diet for example the South Beach Diet can serve this soup with grilled chicken or fish for a delicious, satisfying and very healthy lunch or evening meal.

Ingredients:
• 3 cups seeded and diced red ripe tomatoes, red ripe
• 2 cups medium diced red bell pepper
• 2 cups medium diced red onions
• 1/2 cup medium diced celery
• 2 cups medium diced cucumber
• 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
• 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
• 2 cups organic vegetable juice
• pinch of cayenne
• 1 teaspoon cumin (optional)

Method of preparing:
1. Mix the diced tomato, peppers, red onions, celery and cucumber together in a bowl. Divide the mixture in half and separate into two bowls.
2. Add garlic to one of the bowls and empty into a blender. Add vinegar to the blender and purée this mixture until smooth.
3. Add the vegetable juice, cayenne and cumin to the blender and blend.
4. Add the purée to the other bowl of diced vegetables.
5. Refrigerate overnight. Next day before eating, garnish with lemon and cilantro.

d) Vegetable broth:

This vegetable broth is often used as part of a detox diet and is based on ingredients mainly of fresh fruit, vegetables, roots and tubers, nuts, and legumes - avoiding grains, dairy products, meat and excess salt, in order to balance the acidity and alkalinity of one’s body.

Ingredients:
• 2 cups of spinach
• 2 cups of broccoli heads
• 2 quarts of distilled water
• 3 cups of celery stalk
• 2 cups of red-skinned organic potato peels ( about 1/2 inch thick)
• 1 small zucchini

Method of preparation:
1. Chop all the vegetables into very fine pieces.
2. Place them in the 2 quarts of distilled water and bring to a boil with the lid on.
3. Lower the heat and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
4. Strain and drink the broth.

This broth will keep for about 3 days in the refrigerator and is suitable to be made in larger quantities and frozen for later use.

e) Lemon Detox Diet Recipe

One of the easiest detox recipes is a lemon drink that can replace some of your solid foods for a period of up to a week or so. Simply substitute a meal or two each day with the freshly made lemon beverage.

This particular drink is created by adding two tablespoons of brown rice syrup and two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to a full glass of water. Add just a little freshly grated ginger for taste, to help your digestive system function even better.

This list of conditions and problems is just the tip of the iceberg on the nasty stuff that goes on in your system when it’s covered with plaque and filled with bacteria and can be alleviated considerably or cured when treated effectively with a simple detox processes, using this type of home made recipe:
