Choose The Right Shoes And Get A Lower Body Workout

Marcia Kilgore, an ex personal trainer found that she didn’t have enough time to visit the gym due to her busy lifestyle – so she resolved to do something about it. She developed a range of fitness sandals, shoes and boots together with the London South Bank University (LSBU).

These have a specially designed “microwobbleboard” sole which is partitioned into three distinct sections. Each area uses a different density of material to create the microwobbleboard effect. The heel section is fabricated from a high density material which cushions against shocks whilst walking. The mid section, from the arch to just behind the toes, is made from a low density material and the toe section is made from a medium density material which help to maintain speed, pace and variation.

What this means is that the muscle activity period is extended when walking normally – by up to 16%. Each and every step that you take in your Fitflops trims and tones your legs and helps to reduce the size of your buttocks. It’s like getting a lower body workout just by walking normally.

Wearing Fitflops when walking helps to increase leg, calf and buttock muscle usage, produces improved posture, achieves better muscle tone and burns calories. It sounds too good to be true, but you can tone your legs and trim your buttocks simply by walking around – just as you would normally do.

LSBU carried out extensive scientific research, after which the Fitlop range had its UK launch in 2006.
