Finding Cellulite Becomes Every Womans Over 30’s Worse Nightmare.

But why is it such a big deal, what is cellulite?
If we were to refer to Wikipedia it says for cellulite ” a condition that occurs in men and women where the skin of the lower limbs, abdomen, and pelvic region becomes dimpled after puberty”. Descriptive names for cellulite include orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, the mattress phenomenon, and hail damage.
Not in accordance with common belief both women and men are able to have cellulite. This is by no means a women only thing as most people wrongly assume. What is rather strange is that little or no mention of this is ever made of this being an issue with men. However if we were to flick through the pages of any of the latest celebrity magazines we will without doubt see pictures of famous women photographed at some distance wearing swimwear showing signs of cellulite. It almost seems that to paparazzi photographers these pictures are some sort of trophy like they have uncovered some serious illness amongst the Hollywood female elite.
Just cast your eye across the shelves of the drug store, beauty counter or the numerous websites out there and you’ll find dozens of creams, potions and lotions to get rid of cellulite. Strange thing is they will all claim to be the best solution to get rid of your dimpled areas on your legs and thighs a condition known as cellulite.
The majority people have chosen to ignore the fact or maybe just don’t realize that getting rid of cellulite or eliminating cellulite in the first place is not that hard. In a word it just requires EXERCISE , with simple walking or bike riding you can tone your butt and thighs and the cellulite will go far quicker than with any cream, lotion or other wonder cure.
It’s a bit of down side having to actually do something to get rid of cellulite I know. But on the huge plus side you’ll get fitter and live longer so that’s got to be a plus.
I find it so difficult to understand why when we have let our bodies fall into bad shape before we start worrying about it them. If only we started looking after them before hand we would all live much healthier lives.
Don’t think that cellulite is a sign of bad health it is not , nor is it a disease or even and illness . You might find this hard to accept if you listen to the skin care companies or read articles in women’s magazines. But their interests lie else where.
A brisk walk for about 30-40 minutes daily will do far more for your overall health and boost your feeling of well being far more than any cream, lotion or even the now increasingly popular muscle stimulator’s. If you took at look at some of the research out there which I did for you you’ll find cellulite is nothing more than fatty tissue. It is not especially unhealthy (unless it is part of an overall overweight or obesity problem) and to be fair is little different to any other fat on your body.
Which ever topical product you apply or nutritional supplement you choose to take or device you try or even spa treatment you pay for they all come with little or no guarantee of success. You should also heed the fact that few of these products have been tested for safety and most are pretty much ineffective. You still can’t beat simple exercise and healthy eating regimen to get rid or unwanted surplus fat anywhere on the body.
Also, remember that your body’s pattern of fat distribution is essentially inherited, so everyone’s ‘problem areas’ are different so don’t take it too personally you can always blame your Mom.
A leading source for information about cellulite is the US National Library of Medicine which states:
- Have a healthy diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables.Plenty of fluids (8-10 glasses of water a day ). Frequent exercise. Maintain a healthy weight without any huge weight variations, Stop smoking.
Usually when I tell people that cellulite is nothing to be concerned about they look at me bemused as to why the magazines make such a fuss.
