Dehydration Symptoms: 2 Yellow Alerts for You

July 4, 2009 · 3 Comments

There are many dehydration symptoms, but the top 2 are so common, you might ignore them on a regular basis.

It ’s not a good idea; here’s why.

1 — The first yellow alert really is yellow. I’m talking about the darker yellow you see in the urine when you’re becoming dehydrated.

Does this describe you?

Is this a regular occurrence?

2 — Feeling thirsty is a symptom of dehydration. Drink regularly before you feel thirsty.

If you wait, you’re already down in your need for water. Next, you’ll feel tired unless you address this.

If you want more energy and vitality, start with your drinking habits.

Each day, do you get enough water?

Have you been spreading it out so you are drinking all day?

A little tougher question maybe – is it water you’re drinking? Sugary drinks, coffee or even drinks with added salt aren’t going to replenish you.

Many of the sports drinks do have electrolytes, but are still not good for you.

Drink water and plenty of it.

Whatever water you like, but you don’t want the toxins and chlorine you’ll find in tap water.

The way you tell if you are drinking enough is that your urine is light yellow or clear.

And what is recommended?

It has been well established that you should drink half your body weight in ounces.

For example, 150 pound person needs 75 ounces.

And why spread it out?

When it’s especially hot or you’re active, you will need even more. You must replenish water as the body uses it to feel great.

It’s best to hydrate even before you begin a workout.

The second reason is the body works hard to maintain a delicate balance.

When you are dry, then drink a lot at once, you’re actually flooding the cells. Not much better for you than being too dry. Your body works more.

Another way you work yourself too much is by drinking during a meal.

This takes energy that could be used for other things.

Why is that?

The liquid in the meal dilutes the gastric juices that digest the food.

Digestion is the most energy consuming process you do every day as it is. You don’t want to make it harder.

It is not that hard to eat food by itself as long as you’re drinking throughout the day. Learn more regarding dehydration symptoms in this helpful article.
