A Germ Spiked Lemon Slice Sir?

February 26, 2009 Filed Under: Health News

Had a Gin and Tonic with a twist of lemon lately? Or a cooling glass of ice water or soft drink with a lemon twist? If you haven’t – then don’t start now. Recent studies show that some restaurants serving a slice of lemon in your drink, could contain an enormous amount of bacteria.

Out of the 21 restaurants tested, on each drinks order 77% of the lemon slices were infected with bacteria.

Grim germs like fecal bacteria could be invading your body if your drinks order includes lemon. Apparently restaurants could be using the same chopping block to cut meats and the lemon that goes into your drink.

Sounds gross – well it is. To find out the disgusting details – watch the video and next time you visit a restaurant – make sure to hold the lemon on your order.

Sounds very surprising to see that lemon is a carrier of bacteria. The video is unbelievable. This really stops me from ordering lemon at a restaurant. Thanks for sharing this information.

Cannot even imagine fecal bacteria entering into my body.I would opt out from ordering lemon.
